Int weapons don't even get me started how piss-poor the stun baton is, low damage, a unreliable stun mechanic. If I wanted range i'd just use a gun as any gun has better range and far higher damage. Spear is the same way, its garbage other than throwing it, and it lacks the bleed knives has. A single stack bleed from me does 1 dmg a tick/s, my lv 3 deep cuts drops 4 stacks of bleed on a zombie on a power attack, that should be 4 hp/s, however in actuality its only 2 hp/s. Compared to knives where you can flinch them, but your basically stabbing them with a toothpick unless you got a machete as the damage per hit is so low, the bleed mechanic from deep cuts also seems bugged. High stopping power and the fact you can chain knockdown things with them, means they can't swing at you. Clubs are extremly good, probally better than any other melee weapon hands down. Only issue I have with a18 is the melee weapon balance, its compoletly out of whack. In A17 i'd be bored usually before the first horde night as by then I am lv 40 or 50, can make stuff better than I can ever find, and have so much food/water that I just see no real point to keep going. Kinda back how a16 was with the forge book and such. This is why I love a18, the randomness of it now makes every game different. Seems like it would be better with a crappy barebones form of farming to start with. With farming it's just flat out locked out it seems like until you get lucky from looting. Yeah I like it too, but generally you can craft just about every type of thing from the start, but they're all kinda ♥♥♥♥ty versions of the things you unlock from looting. Don't even want to do that? Then don't play games with randomness built in. They even have all the recipes available as perks so in dire need you have to bite the bullet and get them with perk points. Just imagine you play the next game after they made it easy to get seed recipes and you can't find something else like the steel recipe or wrenches. Generally this is good as it adds variety into each playthrough. One playthrough your are swimming in seed recipes but can't find the steel recipe, the next game you find no seeds but swim in everything else. The new alpha very much put randomness into the game again. BUT! one of the only things im hating on is all these new schematics involved, mainly the seed schematics, ive never been a fan of schems for simple items, and I find it odd you can make a bed roll, clothes, and many more items without a schematic but you need a schematic to make seeds, I would understand a common farming book that unlocks all the seeds, but every seed is ridiculous, im 23 days in without a seed schem yet, I though they tried to make it easier to start out, its a little contradicting, I should be able to put a potato on the ground defecate on it and GG more potato's! please change this!

Only found on Alpha 17 +.So I do admit, Im loving on a18, they have many new features that I love and the new models make it a lot less bland. This is a rare find on maps yet very lootable.

There is no exact way to see on the map what it is until you are there and mark it with a saved waypoint. As well there is no direct map location for any of these the stores just look like a big building on the map as does a lot of the new houses. The number 1 and 2 best looting spots are only available on Alpha 17 or higher. Medical crafting supplies ( grain alcohol, blood bags).Tools ( pickaxes, shovels, hammers, sledgehammer, fireaxe).Hidden caches on the top 3 floors and roof. Here is what I consider the best looting locations for massive amounts of loot.
